This thesis critically examines Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Left Han‎d of Darkness (1969) an‎d The Lathe of Heaven (1971) through theoretical concepts drawn from Gilles Deleuze an‎d Félix Guattari. Le Guin’s imaginative spaces an‎d unconventional characters serve as vehicles for exploring gender dynamics an‎d complex social structures. A central concern in her novels is the formation of rhizomatic, schizophrenic, an‎d alienated identities, embodied through distinctive fictional figures. This study applies Deleuze an‎d Guattari’s frameworks, developed in Anti-Oedipus (1972) an‎d A Thousan‎d Plateaus (1980), which redefined the Oedipus complex an‎d familial dynamics in relation to subjectivity an‎d social alienation, while offering critical perspectives on Marxist concepts such as the desiring-machine an‎d capitalism. Employing three key concepts – “schizophrenia,” “the body without organs,” an‎d “the rhizome” – this research investigates how Le Guin’s futuristic utopias an‎d dystopias, populated by unconventional characters challenge the primacy of the Oedipus complex as the mechanism of alienation. It further reveals that Le Guin’s speculative worlds function as literary enactments of schizoanalytic principles where it leads the characters to become Body without Organs. These narratives do not merely depict alternative social arrangements; they perform rhizomatic world-building, rejecting linear historiography an‎d binary logics in favor of multiplicity, deterritorialization, an‎d immanent ethics. Crucially, this thesis thus positions Le Guin not only as a visionary speculative writer but as a philosophical interlocutor whose literary experiments prefigure an‎d concretize Deleuzo-Guattarian critiques of subjectivity, offering a compelling model for imagining post-Oedipal, post-capitalist futures.

اين پايان‌نامه به بررسي انتقادي دو اثر برجسته اورسولا كي. لو گويين، دست چپ تاريكي (1969) و چرخ آسمان (1971)، از خلال مفاهيم نظري ژيل دلوز و فليكس گتاري مي‌پردازد. فضاهاي تخيلي و شخصيت‌هاي نامتعارف در آثار لو گويين بستري براي كاوش در پويايي‌هاي جنسيت و ساختارهاي اجتماعي پيچيده فراهم مي‌كنند. دغدغه اصلي در اين رمان‌ها شكل‌گيري هويت‌هاي ريزوم‌وار، اسكيزوفرنيك و بيگانه است كه در شخصيت‌هاي متمايز او تجسم مي‌يابند. اين پژوهش چارچوب‌هاي دلوز و گتاري را، كه در كتاب‌هاي ضد اُديپ (1972) و هزار فلات (1980) مطرح شده‌اند، به كار مي‌گيرد؛ چارچوب‌هايي كه برداشت سنتي از عقده اُديپ و پويايي‌هاي خانوادگي را در نسبت با سوژه‌مندي و بيگانگي اجتماعي بازتعريف كرده و هم‌زمان ديدگاهي انتقادي نسبت به مفاهيم ماركسيستي همچون ماشينِ ميل و سرمايه‌داري ارائه مي‌دهند. اين مطالعه با بهره‌گيري از سه مفهوم كليدي «اسكيزوفرني»، «بدن بدون اندام» و «ريزوم» به بررسي رمان‌هاي لو گويين مي‌پردازد و نشان مي‌دهد كه چگونه آرمانشهرهاي آينده‌نگر او، با موجوداتي دوسو‌جنسي يا بي‌جنسيت كه از نقش‌هاي جنسيتي متعارف فراتر مي‌روند، برتري عقده اُديپ به‌عنوان سازوكار اصلي بيگانگي فردي را به چالش مي‌كشند. همچنين اين پژوهش نشان مي‌دهد كه روايت‌هاي لو گويين با چشم‌انداز دلوز و گتاري از جامعه‌اي مبتني بر ماشين‌هاي ميل، نه اراده يا عامليت انساني، هم‌راستا هستند و از قيود زماني و جنسيتي كه معمولاً با بحران‌هاي اُديپي گره خورده‌اند فراتر مي‌روند.
