This study aimed to examine the effect of corrective feedback on Iraqi intermediate EFL learners’ writing of compare/contrast an‎d process texts. Especially, aspects of accuracy, fluency an‎d complexity in writing those types of texts were in the focus of this study. The perceptions of the learners on corrective feedback an‎d its relationship with their writing performance was also investigated. A quasi-experimental design was employed, with an experimental group an‎d a control group. The study was conducted at University of Kufa. Sixty third-year TEFL university students (30 male an‎d 30 female) were invited to participate in this study. Oxford Quick Placement Test was used to ensure the intermediate level of the participants. The study utilized the “Longman Academic Writing Series 3” a writing test an‎d a perception questionnaire. The results indicated teachers’ corrective feedback significantly influenced the accuracy, fluency, an‎d complexity of Iraqi intermediate EFL learners’ writing of compare/contrast an‎d process texts. The study also showed significant positive relationship between learners’ perceptions of teachers’ corrective feedback an‎d their performance in writing the above two text types. The findings imply that Corrective feedback is crucial for improving Iraqi learners writing skills. The study therefore proposes its integration into Iraqi undergraduate educational system.

اين مطالعه به بررسي تأثير بازخورد اصلاحي بر نوشتن متون مقايسه و فرآيند در زبان‌آموزان سطح متوسط عراقي پرداخته است. جنبه‌هاي دقت، رواني و پيچيدگي در نوشتن اين نوع متون در كانون توجه اين مطالعه بوده است. روش تحقيق در اين مطالعه روش تجربي و با گروههاي كنترل و آزمايش بود. اين مطالعه در دانشگاه كوفه انجام شد. شصت دانشجوي سال سوم كارشناسي زبان انگليسي (30 پسر و 30 دختر) براي شركت در اين مطالعه دعوت شدند. آزمون تعيين سطح سريع آكسفورد براي اطمينان از سطح متوسط بودن شركت‌كنندگان استفاده شد. اين مطالعه از كتاب نوشتار آكادميك لانگمن (سري سه)، يك آزمون نوشتاري و يك پرسشنامه استفاده كرد. نتايج نشان داد كه بازخورد اصلاحي معلم‌ به‌طور معناداري بر دقت، رواني و پيچيدگي نوشتن زبان‌آموزان سطح متوسط عراقي در متون مقايسه و فرآيند تأثير داشته است. همچنين، اين مطالعه رابطه مثبت معناداري بين نظر زبان‌آموزان نسبت به بازخورد اصلاحي معلم و عملكردشان در نوشتن اين دو نوع متن نشان داد. يافته‌ها نشان مي‌دهد كه بازخورد اصلاحي براي بهبود مهارت‌هاي نوشتاري زبان‌آموزان عراقي ضروري است. بنابراين، مطالعه پيشنهاد مي‌دهد كه اين نوع بازخورد به سيستم آموزشي دوره كارشناسي در عراق گنجانده شود.
