Group processes play a pivotal role in most learning environments, significantly influencing the quality of learning experiences an‎d outcomes. In this regard, the current study aimed to investigate the impact of person-group fit on foreign language students’ psychological attributes an‎d their learning achievements, particularly focusing on anxiety, enjoyment, engagement, disengagement, an‎d classroom performance. To this end, a total of 417 undergraduate students were selec‎ted through convenience sampling from the Department of English Language an‎d Literature at the University of Isfahan, Iran. These EFL learners were 87 (20.9%) male an‎d 330 (79.1%) female native speakers of Persian. The participants completed self-report scales assessing person-group fit, anxiety, enjoyment, engagement, an‎d disengagement in second language acquisition. The results from Structural Equation Modeling revealed that person-group fit significantly an‎d positively predicted L2 enjoyment an‎d engagement, while it demonstrated a significant negative relationship with anxiety an‎d disengagement. Furthermore, person-group fit indirectly an‎d positively predicted L2 engagement an‎d classroom performance, an‎d negatively predicted L2 disengagement through the mediation of anxiety an‎d enjoyment. Additionally, the findings indicated that person-group fit had a significant positive relationship with classroom performance, mediated by L2 engagement an‎d disengagement. The results of the current research provide valuable insights for educators, school administrators, an‎d policymakers.

آنچه در كلاس درس در بين زبان‌آموزان و در درون آن‌ها رخ مي‌دهد، مي‌تواند به‌طور قابل‌ توجهي بر يادگيري آن‌ها و نتايج حاصل از آن تأثير بگذارد. در اين راستا، پژوهش حاضر به بررسي تأثير تناسب فرد با گروه بر پيامدهاي عاطفي و عملكردي در كلاس‌هاي درس آموزش زبان انگليسي، از جمله اضطراب، لذت، مشاركت، عدم مشاركت و عملكرد كلاسي مي‌پردازد. به اين منظور، در مجموع 417 دانشجوي كارشناسي از دانشكده زبان و ادبيات انگليسي دانشگاه اصفهان، به شيوه‌ي نمونه‌گيري در دسترس انتخاب شدند. اين زبان‌آموزان 87 (20.9٪) مرد و 330 (79.1٪) زن بودند كه به پرسشنامه‌هايي در ارتباط با ارزيابي تناسب فرد با گروه، اضطراب، لذت، مشاركت و عدم مشاركت در يادگيري زبان دوم پاسخ دادند. نتايج مدل‌سازي معادلات ساختاري نشان داد كه تناسب فرد با گروه به‌طور معنادار و مثبتي لذت و مشاركت در زبان دوم را پيش‌بيني كرد، در حالي كه اين متغير رابطه‌ي معنادار و منفي‌اي با اضطراب و عدم مشاركت داشت. علاوه بر اين، تناسب فرد با گروه از طريق ميانجي‌گري اضطراب و لذت، به‌طور غيرمستقيم و مثبت مشاركت و عملكرد در كلاس را پيش‌بيني كرد و نيز رابطه‌ي منفي‌اي با عدم مشاركت در يادگيري زبان دوم داشت. يافته‌ها همچنين حاكي از آن بودند كه تناسب فرد با گروه رابطه‌ي غيرمستقيمِ مثبت و معناداري با عملكرد كلاسي داشت كه اين رابطه از طريق ميانجي‌گري مشاركت و عدم مشاركت در يادگيري زبان دوم برقرار بود. يافته‌هاي اين تحقيق به معلمان و مسئولان آموزش بينش‌هاي ارزشمندي را ارائه خواهد داد.
