War narratives are essential in literature for understan‎ding the human experience of conflict. By comparing them across different languages, we gain a deeper appreciation for the power of comradeship, the shared challenges of war, an‎d the enduring impact of conflicts on individuals an‎d societies. This thesis proposes a comparative study of three war narratives: All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque (Germany, World War I), The Wooden Crosses by Rolan‎d Dorgelès (France, World War I), an‎d Savior, where are You? by Ma’soume Ramhormozi (Iran-Iraq War), through the lens of Bertran‎d Westphal’s géocritique. We have explored a subcategory of geocriticism, spatio-temporality; by analyzing the representations of space an‎d time in these novels, the study reveals how historical, cultural, an‎d geographical contexts influence literary creation an‎d, more specifically, the representation of comradeship among soldiers an‎d rescue workers. The analysis explores the commonalities an‎d differences in how each novel depicts comradeship through character interactions an‎d relationships, highlighting the influence of the physical environment an‎d shared experiences on the battlefield. The study sheds light on how the concept of realms in geocriticism, which refers to how places are imbued with cultural an‎d historical significance, affects the narrative construction an‎d emotional depth of the works. Finally, the study concludes that, despite divergent contexts, camaraderie remains a universal an‎d essential element in the experience of war, demonstrating the power of human connections in the face of adversity.

روايت‌هاي جنگ در ادبيات براي درك تجربه انسان ها در جنگ و درگيري از اهميت بالايي برخوردار هستند. با مقايسه آن‌ها از منظر زبان‌هاي مختلف، درك عميق‌تري از قدرت رفاقت، رويارويي با چالش‌هاي مشترك جنگ، و تأثير پايدار آن بر افراد و جوامع را به دست مي‌آوريم. اين تحقيق مطالعه تطبيقي سه روايت جنگ را از خلال نقدجغرافيايي برتراند وستفال ارائه مي دهد: در جبهه ي غرب خبري نيست، نوشته ي اريش ماريا رمارك (آلمان، جنگ جهاني اول)، صليب هاي چوبي نوشته رولاند دورژلس (فرانسه، جنگ جهاني اول)، و امدادگر، كجايي؟ اثر معصومه رامهرمزي (جنگ عراق و ايران). در اين تحقيق زيرمجموعه‌اي از نقد جغرافيايي، زمان-مكانمندي را بررسي كرده‌ايم. با تجزيه و تحليل بازنمايي فضا و زمان در اين سه رمان‌، اين مطالعه نشان مي‌دهد كه چگونه بافتار تاريخي، فرهنگي و جغرافيايي بر خلق يك اثر ادبي و به خصوص بر بازنمايي رفاقت در ميان سربازان و امدادگران تأثير مي‌گذارند. تحليل اين مطالعه، به بررسي اشتراكات و تفاوت‌ها در نحوه ي ترسيم رفاقت در هر رمان از طريق تعاملات و روابط شخصيت‌ها و برجسته كردن تأثير محيط فيزيكي و تجربيات مشترك در ميدان جنگ مي پردازد. اين مطالعه نشان مي‌دهد كه چگونه مفهوم ناحيه در نقد جغرافيايي (به معناي نحوه اي كه مكان ها با معاني فرهنگي و تاريخي آميخته مي شوند) ، بر ساختار روايت و عمق احساسي اثر تأثير مي‌گذارد. در نهايت، اين مطالعه بر اين نتيجه است كه علي‌رغم متفاوت بودن دوره هاي زماني، تفاوت در مكان‌ها و در درگيري ها و مبارزات، رفاقت عنصري جهاني و اساسي در تجربه جنگ باقي مي‌ماند و نشان دهنده ي قدرت ارتباطات انساني در مواجهه با ناملايمات است.
