Translation assessment has been an increasingly deman‎ding topic of research in the field of Quran translation. The present study assessed the translation of a 500-word Quranic corpus. The words of the corpus included homographs, synonyms an‎d plesionyms (near-synonyms). Six translations were selec‎ted to answer the research questions. The translations were by M. Abdelhaleem, Talal Itani, an‎d M. H. Shakir (Arab translators) an‎d Saheeh International (three American women), Pickthall, an‎d Arberry (English native speakers). For the macro-analysis, the study adopted frame semantics (with its branches; case theory an‎d semantic fields), unanimous exegeses, enhanced by the ever neglected word-level specialized books of الوجوه والنظائر (homographs an‎d near-synonyms) an‎d الفروق اللغوية (linguistic nuances of words), an‎d cross-textuality (as a newly proposed method). Moreover, the study utilized the morpho-semantic analysis (including iconicity, etymology) to examine the semantic loss in the translation of words in light of Nida’s dichotomy of formal versus functional equivalence theory. The study revealed that the Arab translators, for the most part, performed better in translating the Quranic homographs, polysemies an‎d near-synonyms under study. Moreover, cross-textuality, equivalence (componential analysis), an‎d frame semantics can contribute considerably to promoting the translation of the Quranic words under study. Moreover, the morphological analysis (an‎d awareness of word form, iconicity, an‎d diacritics) is an efficient an‎d essential strategy for rendering dynamically equivalent translations of the words in question.

ارزيابي ترجمه يكي از پرچالش ترين موضوعات در حوزه پژوهش هاي مربوط به ترجمه قرآن مي باشد. هدف از پژوهش حاضر، ارزيابي ترجمه پيكره 500 واژه اي مستخرج از قرآن كريم مي باشد. اين پيكره مشتمل بر كلمات هم نگاره، چند معنايي و تقريبا هم معني است. بدين منظور، 6 ترجمه از 6 مترجم (سه مترجم عرب زبان شامل عبدالحليم، طلال ايتاني و شاكر و سه مترجم انگليسي زبان شامل صحيح اينترنشنال، پيكتال و آربري) براي بررسي ترجمه كلمات مورد نظر انتخاب شدند. ارزيابي ترجمه بر مبناي نظريه معنا شناسي قالبي، تفسير معنايي از كتاب الوجوه و النظائر (هم نگاره ها و هم معناها) و كتاب الفروق الغويه (جزئيات زبانشناختي كلمات) و نيز رجوع به ساير كلمات قرآني صورت پذيرفت. همچنين اين پژوهش، از تحليل صرفي-معنايي براي بررسي خلاء هاي معنايي موجود در كلمات بر اساس نظريه تعادل (تعادل صوري و تعادل نقشي) استفاده نمود. نتايج نشان داد در بيشتر موارد، مترجمين عرب زبان در ترجمه كلمات هم نگاره، چند معنايي و كلمات تقريبا هم معني قرآن بهتر عمل نمودند. همچنين نتايج نشان داد بهره مندي از نظريه تعادل، نظريه معنا شناسي قالبي و نيز رجوع به ساير كلمات قرآني مي توانند تا حد امكان در بهبود ترجمه اين گونه كلمات به مترجمين كمك نمايند. تحليل صرفي (آگاهي از ويژگي هاي صرفي، تصويرگونگي و إعراب) نيز راهبردي موثر براي ترجمه كلمات تحت بررسي در اين پژوهش بود.
