This study investigates the impact of utilizing the British National Corpus (BNC) versus bilingual mobile dictionaries on the acceptability, readability, and timing of the translation of literary texts from Persian to English. Twenty Iranian translation students from the University of Isfahan participated voluntarily, divided into two groups included fifteen females and five males and each group comprising ten participants. While a large sample would improve the study’s statistical power, practical and logistical constraints limited this possibility. A quasi-experimental design was employed, using pretest and posttest for both groups: the experimental group using BNC corpus’s context- rich resource and bilingual mobile dictionaries, while the control group using only the convenience bilingual mobile dictionaries. Low-readability literary texts were selected to eva‎luate how translation tools affects acceptability, readability and timing in Persian to English translation. Two expert raters eva‎luated acceptability, while readability was assessing using the Flesch-Kincaid grade-level test. The results indicated no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in both the pretest and posttest, suggesting that both BNC corpus and bilingual mobile dictionary support acceptable translations. Regarding readability, pretest scores revealed no significant difference between two groups; however, posttest results indicated slight improvements in the experimental group. In terms of timing, both groups used less time in their posttests compared to their pretest, although the control group significantly outperforms the experimental group. Furthermore, regarding attitudes, the result showed that the experimental group have positive look toward using BNC corpus for translation literary texts. This study can be particularly useful for translation researchers, translation students, teacher training courses, and curriculum designers.

اين مطالعه تاثير كاربرد پيكره BNC در مقابل ديكشنري موبايلي دوزبانه بر مقبوليت، قابليت خوانش و زمانبندي ترجمه از متن هاي ادبي به انگليسي را برسي مي كند. بيست دانشجوي ايراني رشته ترجمه از دانشگاه اصفهان به طور داوطلبانه در اين تحقيق شركت داشتند. آنها به دو گره تقسيم شدند كه شامل پانزده زن و پنج مرد بودند و هر گروه شامل ده نفر بود. اگرچه يك نمونه بزرگ تر مي توانست قدرت آماري مطالعه را افزايش دهد،اما محدويت هاي عملي و لجستيكي مانع آن شد.از يك طرح شبه تجربي با استفاده از پيش آزمون و پس آزمون براي دو گره تجربي و گروه كنترل به كارگرفته شد; گروه تجربي از پيكره غني BNC و يك ديكشنري دوزبانه استفاده كرد و گروه كنترل فقط از ديكشنري هاي قابل دسترس موبايلي دوزبانه به كار گرفت. متون ادبي با خوانايي پايين انتخاب شدند تا ارزيابي شود كه اين ابزارها تا چه حد بر مقبوليت،خوانش و زمانبندي تاثير دارند.دو ارزياب متخصص ترجمه مقبوليت را ارزيابي كردند,اما براي قابليت خوانش از آزمون گريد لول فلش كينكيد استفاده شد. با توجه به مغوله قابليت خوانش،نتايج نشان دادند كه هيچ تفاوت معناداري بين دو گروه در پيش آزمون و پس آزمون وجود ندارد و دال بر آن است كه اين دو ابزار براي مقبوليت ترجمه موثرند. در مورد قابليت خوانش،نمرات پيش آزمون تفاوت معناداري را نشان نمي دهند، ولي در پس آزمون نتايج نشان داد كه گروه تجربي بهبود جزِيي داشت. درباره مغوله زمانبندي،نتايج نشان دادند كه هر دو گروه در مقايسه با پيش آزمون در پس آزمون زمان كمتري استفاده كردند. با اين حال، گروه كنترل به طور معناداري عملكرد بهتري نسبت به گروه تجربي داشت. در مورد نگرش، نتايج نشان داد كه گروه تجربي ديدگاه مثبتي به استفاده از پيكره BNC دارد.اين تحقيق مي تواند به طور خاص براي محقيقين ترجمه، دانشجويان ترجمه، دوره هاي آموزش معلم و طراحان برنامه هاي درسي مفيد باشد.
