The concept of "care" as an ethical an‎d interpersonal foundation exists in Rumiʹs Masnavi Maʹnavi; however, the systematic examination of the components of care thinking within the narrative an‎d expressive layers of this work has been neglected. This research aims to identify an‎d explain the existence an‎d manifestation of caring thinking components in the books of Masnavi Maʹnavi, before the proposal of Lipmanʹs theory. The research is qualitative an‎d based on the content analysis of texts; purposive sampling was conducted from selec‎ted verses an‎d stories of the Masnavi books. Data were extracted through open an‎d axial coding, an‎d narrative an‎d expressive signs related to care were classified. The analysis was pursued by comparing the linguistic, structural, an‎d situational signs of the verses with the conceptual framework of care thinking. The findings of the analysis showed that the Masnavi systematically reflects the components of care thinking: emotional thinking (representation of inner states an‎d emotional images), empathetic thinking (co-narrative stories for understan‎ding othersʹ states), normative thinking (norm-forming parables such as being ready to serve), eva‎luative thinking (valuing moral virtues such as respect for others an‎d humility), an‎d active thinking (stories that symbolize organizing an‎d managing). Consequently, it must be said that the components of care thinking have crystallized systematically in the narrative an‎d expressive structure of the Masnavi, an‎d the existence of these components in Rumiʹs thought is provable before the emergence of contemporary theories.
