This research, titled "Divine Rewarding Guidance in the Noble Quran: An Analysis of Attracting Factors and Ontological Effects," undertakes a systematic investigation of the concept of "Rewarding Guidance" (Hidāyah Jawāʹiziyyah) as a divine bestowal granted to the servant in response to faith and righteous deeds. The primary objective of this study is to elucidate the nature of Rewarding Guidance in distinction from primary (legislative) guidance, to identify and analyze the factors that attract and facilitate this guidance, and to extract and describe its ontological effects and manifestations in the individual and social life of the believer based on the verses of the Noble Quran.
The main research question is: What are the effective factors in attracting Rewarding Guidance, and what effects does this guidance leave on human existence and life?
Employing a descriptive-analytical method and relying on library resources, particularly the text of the Quran and authoritative Imami and sonni commentaries (focusing on Tafsīr al-Mīzān by Allamah Tabatabaei and the works of Ayatollah Javadi Amoli), this research collects and analyzes data.
The findings of the study indicate that Rewarding Guidance is an ontological blessing beyond general guidance, actualized in light of voluntary and optional factors in humans. The most important of these attracting factors include: faith and righteous deeds, God-wariness (Taqwā), obedience to God and His Messenger, striving in the way of God (Jihād), turning back to innate disposition (Fitrah), holding fast to the "cord of Allah" (Ḥabl Allāh), and following divine pleasure (Riḍwān). Conversely, factors such as disbelief (Kufr), injustice (Ẓulm), transgression (Fisq), allegiance to Satan, and preferring the love of worldly life over the love of God were identified as the primary obstacles to receiving this guidance.
Furthermore, the existential blessings and effects of this guidance in the life of a believer manifest in concepts such as the expansion of the breast (Sharḥ al-Ṣadr) (inner openness), the firmness of the heart (Thabāt al-Qalb) (steadfastness in faith), luminosity (Nūrāniyyah) (inner illumination and discernment of truth), existential security and tranquility, the creation of affection and love (Wudd) in hearts, and guidance to the paths of peace (Subul al-Salām) (secure and safe paths).
Ultimately, this research concludes that Rewarding Guidance is the complementary and evolutionary link in the Quranic educational system, establishing a dynamic and reciprocal relationship between human free will and divine grace. Understanding the factors attracting this guidance and its effects not only enhances Quranic insight but also provides a practical roadmap for attaining the higher degrees of proximity to God.
