Abstract Industry 4.0 is recognized as the fourth industrial revolution an‎d includes virtual an‎d physical systems that operate in an interconnected an‎d collaborative manner, functioning autonomously. In this context, the maintenance an‎d repair unit aims to reduce costs, minimize errors, an‎d enable timely predictive maintenance by implementing an‎d taking steps towards this path. This research assesses the preparedness levels of maintenance an‎d repair units for the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies in the South Pars Gas Complex.The study is applied research an‎d utilizes both qualitative an‎d quantitative approaches to adapt the model an‎d conduct the readiness assessment. In the qualitative part, a review of the literature an‎d existing models was conducted, an‎d the Impulse model was used as the foundational basis for designing an‎d implementing the assessment methodology. This model was tailored to meet the requirements of the technology, based on interviews with managers of the South Pars Gas Complex, focusing on the maintenance an‎d repair sector. The adapted model was then eva‎luated using a questionnaire distributed among 20 maintenance an‎d repair managers to measure an‎d assess readiness. The results indicated that the maintenance an‎d repair unit of South Pars operates at level two out of six (ranging from 0 to 5) according to the Impulse model, which signifies a state of awareness an‎d familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts.
