Criticism of translation edit a selec‎tion of childrenʹs story collections in the age groups of 0 to 12 years

This research focuses on the critique an‎d review of editorial mistakes in translated story collections within the field of children’s literature for the age groups 0 to 12 years. Given the increase in translated books an‎d the significance of childhood an‎d children’s literature for intellectual an‎d personality development, this study aims to identify an‎d analyze formal, linguistic, an‎d content-related flaws introduced into these works. The main basis of the research is the content editing of the books. In this study, the age range of zero to twelve years is divided into four categories: 0–2 years, 3–6 years, 7–9 years, an‎d 10–12 years. The primary goal is to critique the editing of translations an‎d offer suggestions for improving the quality of translated works. The research hypotheses include: the frequency of editorial errors being different an‎d distinguishable across each age group; the introduction of anti-cultural an‎d anti-Islamic-Iranian societal concepts due to negligence in the content editing of translated children’s books; an‎d deviations from Persian grammar an‎d the infiltration of foreign vocabulary due to inattention to linguistic editing. The research methodology is descriptive-analytical, conducted through a line-by-line examination of the selec‎ted collections. Ultimately, this research seeks to propose a model for better performance in the translation an‎d editing of children’s literature.
