This research conducts a semiotic analysis of miniatures from the Timurid period, focusing on mystical concepts. The Timurid era, renowned for the deep connection of its rulers to mysticism an‎d art, provided an unparalleled context for the manifestation of transcendental concepts in the art of miniature painting. Despite numerous studies in this field, a systematic analysis of the mystical motifs in these works had remained an overlooked area. Addressing this scholarly gap, this study investigates how concepts such as spiritual ecstasy (wajd), contentment (riḍhā), an‎d submission (taslīm) are reflected in the visual elements of the miniatures. The research methodology combines semiotic analysis with library resources. By examining authoritative sources an‎d comparing prominent Timurid miniatures with established mystical signs, the researcher analyzes these signs an‎d symbols. Elements such as light, color, specific signs, an‎d the stages of the mystical path (sulūk) are systematically examined. This approach has facilitated the discovery of profound connections between artistic forms an‎d mystical themes. The outcome of this research is a novel interpretation of Timurid miniature painting as a visual-mystical text. The findings indicate that the artists of this period, with a comprehensive understan‎ding of mystical concepts, embodied these meanings through visual symbols. This study not only represents a significant step forward in understan‎ding Islamic art but also provides a practical model for interdisciplinary studies bridging art an‎d mysticism. The distinctive value of this research lies in its unprecedented analytical method an‎d its uncovering of hidden layers of meaning within the artistic works of the Timurid period.
