The management process entails a number of specified tasks, with decision-making being one of the most crucial because it affects all other tasks. As is well-known, the most valuable asset of any organization is its human capital, which all managers and officials seek to optimize for maximum productivity. In recent years, the rise in administrative corruption has prompted researchers to give greater consideration to ethical concerns. This study aimed to develop, introduce, and validate an ethical decision-making model for school principals in Lorestan schools. The study is applied in terms of purpose and exploratory in terms of design (qualitative-quantitative mixed methods). Moreover, it is survey-based and employs a grounded theory-based approach. In the qualitative section, the required data was collected by conducting semi-structured interviews with 15 purposively selected experts in education and management. The quantitative section collected data through a questionnaire distributed to all principals in Lorestan province. In the quantitative section, the sample size consisted of 181 individuals who were recruited through random cluster sampling. The software programs utilized in the quantitative and qualitative sections were SMART-PLS and MAXQDA, respectively. In order to ensure reliability and validity and to test research hypotheses, several methods were employed, including transverse load tests, Chenʹs test, the composite coefficient (Dillon-Goldstein), average variance extracted (AVE), the SmartPLS algorithm, and bootstrap. Additionally, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was utilized to assess the normality of the research variables. The research findings indicate that a total of 18 main categories and 46 sub-categories were identified and that the secondary research questions were addressed. The results from the structural equations software indicate that the causal categories, axial categories, spatial categories, interventional categories, and strategic categories have a significant impact on the ethical decision-making model of school principals. The research hypotheses are confirmed based on these findings. Notably, enhancing the ethical culture within an organization can help mitigate the negative effects and harm that may arise in the organizational setting. School principals should monitor the culture of their internal and external environment at all times, given the special conditions and the presence of students. Based on the findings of these investigations, they should make changes, modifications, or strengthen their organizational culture. Furthermore, participation and consultation in decision-making can enhance ethical decision-making. Furthermore, establishing standardized practices and implementing strong ethical regulations can aid in making ethical decisions.
