The validity an‎d reliability of multi-dimensional measure of vocational identity status

Career identity is one of the important dimensions of individual identity, the formation of which during adolescence plays a fundamental role in future career decisions an‎d life satisfaction. Given the importance of assessing the status of adolescentsʹ career identity an‎d the lack of stan‎dard an‎d indigenous tools in this area, this study examined the validity an‎d reliability of the Persian version of the Multidimensional Scale of Career Identity States (2011) in the Iranian adolescent community. This descriptive correlational study was conducted on 300 first an‎d second grade high school students in Isfahan using a convenience sampling method. The research tools included the multi-dimensional measure of vocational identity status, Dellas Identity Status Inventory-O(DISI-O), An Inventory for Measuring Clinical Anxiety, An Inventory for Measuring Depression, an‎d The Core Sef-eva‎luations Scale . In this study, the construct validity of the Multidimensional Scale of Career Identity States was confirmed using confirmatory factor analysis an‎d internal consistency. Also, by examining the relationship between the Multidimensional Scale of Career Identity States an‎d the Dellas Identity Status Inventory, The Core Sef-eva‎luations Scale An Inventory for Measuring Clinical Anxiety, An Inventory for Measuring Depression were examined an‎d the concurrent convergent validity of the Multidimensional Scale of Career Identity status was confirmed. Then, using Cronbachʹs alpha an‎d Spearman-Brown methods, the internal reliability coefficients of the multi-dimensional measure of vocational identity status were examined, which showed that the validity of the test is at an acceptable level. The findings show that the Persian version of the multi-dimensional measure of vocational identity status is a valid tool for assessing the vocational identity status of adolescents in Iranian society. This tool can be used in research an‎d educational an‎d counseling programs related to the career identity of adolescents.
