Road transport, which is one of the most widely used forms of transport, is a very valuable heavy capital of a country, and its preservation is very important. Among the factors affecting road damage are environmental conditions, including water, frost, temperature changes, humidity, and soil displacement, and loading conditions of passing vehicles. In Iran, considering that the life of pavements is considered to be 10 to 20 years, in practice, severe damage is observed after 5 to 6 years. Studies have shown that most road damage is caused by loading heavy vehicles, which is one of the important issues regarding loading heavy vehicles is the distribution of the load on their axles. If this load distribution is in accordance with the regulations, it means that the design assumptions are correct, but if this load distribution is not correct for any reason by drivers and transport agents on the axles, it leads to damage and overloading of the pavement. For this reason, using the WIM system, data related to one direction of the four-lane Tehran-Rodhan road was obtained from the Road Administration and Road Transport Organization, and then the load distribution of each axle of each vehicle was extracted and compared with the regulations. This was examined in 4 cases, which are:
Scenario 1: Considering all vehicles, including loaded and unloaded vehicles.
Scenario 2: Considering vehicles that have been loaded.
Scenario 3: Considering vehicles that are overloaded.
Scenario 4: Considering axles of vehicles that are overloaded.
The results showed that there was no overload in scenarios 1 and 2, but in scenario 3, 56.57 percent and in scenario 4, 89.41 percent overload was observed.
