Abstract
This study was conducted with the aim of determining the status of primary school children’s life designing and comparing to compare the effect of career training based on vocational personality theory and career construction theory on life designing. This research was a quantitative study composed of two parts: a descriptive and a quasi-experimental part with a follow-up stage. The statistical population of the study was all primary school boys aged 13-10 years in the academic year of 2017-18 in the city of Isfahan. At stage one, 780 people were selected by cluster sampling. In order to collect data, career adaptability scale-short form (Maggiori, Rossier, Svickas, 2015), future career autobiography (Rehfuss, 2009), and Inventory of Childrenʹs Activities-3 (ICA-3) (Tracey, Caulum, 2015) were used. In the second part, which was a comparison between the effect of the two interventional packages, was semi-experimental design with pre-test, post-test and follow-up with four experimental groups and two control groups, among them 72 people were selected by purposive sampling method based on inclusion criteria and randomly divided into 3 groups of 24 individuals in the career intervention group based on job personality theory, career construction theory, and control group. Being a semi-experimental design with pre-test, post-test, and follow-up, the second part was a comparison between the effect of the two interventional packages, so, at this stage, three female ʹclasses and three maleʹ classes were selected from two schools, by cluster sampling method, at this stage 146 student were selected accordance with inclusion criteria; each class was considered as a cluster. then, the two interventional groups received the intervention of my career story, and two groups the career awareness in six 45 minute-sessions, and two control groups received no intervention. Pre-test was performed for all six groups. They received 6 sessions of 45 minutes. In the session after the training course, a post-test was received and after three months, a follow-up test was performed. Confirmatory factor analysis methods were used in AMOS software version 22 and analysis of variance with repeated measures and chi-square in SPSS software version 26 were used to analyze the data. The results of the first hypothesis of the study based on the study of life design in children showed that: 1) the average score of children in life design indicators in all indicators is higher than the average of society. 2) the degree of adaptability (curiosity and confidence), desires and abilities Realism, search and contract in boys are more than girls and the level of artistic and social desires and artistic ability of girls is more than boys. 3) The level of trust, realistic interest, enterprising, and conventional, and the realistic competency and of fourth grade children is higher than the sixth grade and the amount of control, realistic and searching desires and realism capabilities of fifth grade children is more than sixth grade children. 4) The amount of control, realistic, contractual, daring and artistic desires and realistic and social capabilities of fourth grade boys are higher than the fifth and sixth grade elementary students, and finally the contractual desires and daring abilities of fourth grade girls are higher than sixth grade primary school children.
