The Analysis of the Cultural gap in the Current Society of Iran; Causes an‎d Consequences

This research is qualitative an‎d aims to examine the cultural gap in contemporary Iranian society, the causes of its formation, an‎d its consequences on the political structure. To better analyze the cultural gap, the generational gap has also been studied in relation to it. Data were collected using documentary an‎d library methods, an‎d through descriptive an‎d analytical examination, the findings indicate that the cultural gap represents a conflict an‎d disconnection between official culture an‎d public culture, while the generational gap is a type of cultural gap, with the primary cause of the generational gap being cultural disconnection. Globalization, population growth, the poor performance of cultural institutions, the lack of coordination between religion, government, an‎d family, the rise of a new middle class, an‎d changes in reference groups are internal an‎d external factors contributing to the occurrence of the cultural gap. The consequences of the cultural gap on the political structure include identity crisis, legitimacy crisis, participation crisis, an‎d decreased political trust. The cultural gap in Iranian society, which began in the mid-1990s an‎d is currently increasing an‎d expan‎ding, is in a sensitive state. This gap is not in a dormant an‎d inactive state but rather in a semi-active an‎d even active condition.
