Gamification is an educational method that can enhance learning. However, the educational process is always influenced by various factors that can overshadow its effectiveness. Therefore, this research aimed to identify the factors affecting the effectiveness of gamification-based education in elementary schools. First, the effective factors related to gamification-based education were extracted from previous studies using the synthesis research method. Based on these factors, a questionnaire was prepared. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by experts, and its reliability was assessed using Cronbachʹs alpha coefficient.
The statistical population for this research included all elementary school teachers in Isfahan City, who were selected through cluster sampling in the 5th educational district of Isfahan. The sample size was determined using Cochranʹs formula, resulting in 248 participants. The data from the questionnaire were analyzed using SPSS software. The results indicated that the influence of the seven main factors identified in the synthesis phase of the research, including learner, teacher, interpersonal, structural, design, educational, and attitude factors, on the effectiveness of gamification-based education in elementary schools was above average. Among these, the set of interpersonal factors had the greatest impact, while the set of learner factors had the least impact. Additionally, among the sub-factors of the main factors, the highest level of effectiveness was related to the sub-factors of "teachersʹ skills" and "teacherʹs trust and interest in teaching through gamification" from the set of teacher factors, whereas the lowest effectiveness was related to the sub-factor of "learnerʹs gender" from the set of learner factors.
