One of the most common methods of evaluation of faculty members is the evaluation of students from the teaching of professors, which is used in most universities of the world. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of studentsʹ evaluation of the teaching of professors of the University of Isfahan from different aspects and to provide suggestions from the results of this analysis to promote and advance this evaluation. The present study is a qualitative and descriptive-analytical study that was conducted in the academic year 2023-2024 at the University of Isfahan. The participants included faculty members of the University of Isfahan who were teaching at this university during the research period and had a history of managerial positions and useful experiences in the field of evaluation. The method of selecting the participants was judgmental and purposeful and based on the suggestions of the group managers. The sample consisted of professors of the faculties of educational sciences and psychology representing the humanities branch and the faculty of computer engineering representing the technical branch of engineering. The professors were from the departments of Psychology, Psychology with Special Needs, Information Science and Knowledge Science, Educational Sciences, Counseling, Information Technology Engineering, Computer Architecture Engineering, and Software Engineering. The data reached theoretical saturation after 23 interviews. The data collection method was semi-structured interviews with 10 questions. The questions deal with issues such as examining the strengths and weaknesses, surveying the questionnaire, surveying about the time of the evaluation and its compulsory, the components affecting the studentsʹ responses, how to use the evaluation results, and the proposed strategies to improve the evaluation. The text of the interviews was analyzed by Colaizzi method and categorized based on the research questions. The validity of the findings was confirmed by the peer method and the respondentʹs validation method. In this study, the average time of the interviews was 28 minutes and the average teaching experience of the professors was 19 years. The scientific rank of the interviewees includes 1 instructor, 4 assistant professors, 13 associate professors, and 5 professors.
