In todayʹs modern world, industries have progressed a lot with the passage of time and the old and traditional form can no longer be seen in them. Electricity has played a significant role in the progress and improvement of industries, so that industrial electrical equipment can be considered as one of the turning points in the improvement of industries. Danst. But one of the most widely used industrial electrical equipments is the inverter, which by stepping into the industries, has created huge changes in it and has led to the improvement and progress of the industries. In general, three-phase power supply is easily available, but it is difficult to produce a multi-phase power supply, so a voltage source inverter is used to obtain a five-phase power supply from three phases. The number of output phases can be increased by adding the number of pins in the inverter. In this thesis, the goal is to design and build a five-phase inverter, for this purpose, a five-phase voltage source inverter is used.
In this thesis, 72 degree switching algorithm method is used, 72 degree modulation means this. that a cycle period is considered equal to 360 degrees, and because there are ten keys in the structure of a five-phase inverter, then the turning on of each key is considered to be 36 degrees, a cycle period is divided into ten parts, if in one If the two keys section is on, it means that 72 degree modulation is used.
In the pulse generation section, in the simulation, the pulses are completely square and the rise time is considered to be almost zero seconds. The rise and fall is made small, which has a good performance in practice, which is considered in the simulation of pulses in such a way that the rise and fall time is short, and the pulse is perfectly synchronized with each other. In this end Circuits are designed to change the rise and fall times of the pulses used to turn the switches on and off.
In the designed five-phase inverter, the output line voltage and phase voltage are presented in load balance and load imbalance, and in each condition, the effective values of the voltage and THD of the voltage are obtained and compared with the simulations.
In the construction of the inverter, all the electrical design standards of the circuit and protection have been considered and it can be used as a converter of a five-phase AC motor.
