The present study aimed to analyze couple dynamics in infertile women in Isfahan City. To achieve this goal, the qualitative method of thematic analysis was utilized, The study population of the research was infertile women aged 18 to 40 in Isfahan city in 2023 and 2024. Based on the purposeful sampling method, 14 of these women, who had been trying to conceive for at least one year and had not succeeded, were selected by the purposeful sampling method. For collecting data, a semi-structured interview was conducted with the participants and the interviews were fully implemented. The interviews were analyzed and coded. In the first stage, 1040 concept codes were identified. Then these codes were categorized into 27 categories and six themes. The first theme named "couple relationship processes" included "intimacy in couple relationship", "conflict resolution methods" and "conflict content". The second theme with the name of "childbearing functions", included the categories of "biological need", "training and growth", "improvement of couple relationship", "motherhood experience", "attribution of fatherʹs role" and "purpose of marriage". The third theme was comprised of "methods of dealing with infertility", which includes "avoidance", "reduction of arousal" and "Problem-oriented facing". The fourth theme was called "stressful factors in infertility", which included "internal", "economical", "social", "family", " marital", "sexual" and "consequences of unsuccessful treatment". The fifth theme, named "relationship support", included the categories of "charming personal characteristics", "support of relatives", "spirituality", "sexuality", "supportive behaviors" and "Relationship strengths". The last theme was "consequences of not having children in a coupleʹs relationship", which includes "negative consequences" and "positive consequences". Finally, the network of themes was drawn considering these categories and themes. The findings of this research indicated the extent and diversity of couple dynamics of infertile spouses. Infertility centers can use findings from this research to identify infertile couples improving the quality of their marital relationship.
