Magical realism occupies a large part of Latin American literature. In this literary school, which arose in response to exaggeration or overstatement in realism, the writer establishes a link between reality and superstition or myth, leading to a magical combination which captivates the mind and heart of the reader; his winged imagination goes with it until it becomes part of reality. This research is aimed at analyzing the novel "Rabaʹi al-Khosuf" written by Ibrahim Koni. In this novel, the writer made the desert the scene of events and, adopting a technical and artistic method, used all the characters and myths in this atmosphere and gave us a text full of cultural and artistic values and influential topics. The present study aims to investigate the phenomenon of cultural criticism and its elements in the novel "Rabaʹi Al-Khasuf". The research also seeks to analyze the different aspects and dimensions of magical realism and the way through which we can study this type of realism and interact with it in the novel. Furthermore, adopting a cultural approach, the study examines the quality of the process of narration and description in magical realism in the abovementioned novel. The results show that, firstly, the multiplicity of common and different elements in the narrative discourse of "Rabaʹi Al-Khasuf" has led to the formation of cultural pattern structure, which is manifested in the sphere of tangible/intangible and reasonable/unreasonable in the course of magical realism and its popular and mythological heritage. Secondly, in this novel, the author has emphasized the narrative effects in its narrative-descriptive dimensions. Moreover, based on the results, Kony is inclined towards being inspired by various discourse related to magical realism, the range of which in the narrative work is formed by mixing with cultural elements and implicit patterns. Since the researcher was faced with this type of discourse in the work under study, he found it necessary to, by taking the approach of cultural criticism, examine its elements which are widespread throughout the said work.
