Energy, as the most important need of every country in the world today, especially developing and developed countries, is of special importance . In order to transfer energy from producing countries to consuming countries, the security of the energy transfer route must be ensured. Therefore, the countries that have a special transit position are important in the process of energy transfer, and Ukraine has such a special importance that both Russia and the European union have a special view towards this country for their energy exchanges. Russia, as the largest holder of proven gas reserves in the world, is the largest exporter of gas to the European union, and in order to export its energy to Europe, it uses Ukraine as its most important energy transmission corridor. The current research, relying on the two categories of energy geopolitics and energy security, aimed to answer the question "what effect will the Ukraine crisis have on the energy geopolitics of the European union after 2022". In order to answer the question, the hypothesis was raised that although the European union has an urgent and severe need for Russian gas, the 2022 crisis in Ukraine made the European union turn this threat into an opportunity and reduce its dependence on Russian gas to a significant extent. reduce and persistently put the topic of replacing renewable resources and gas exchanges with countries other than Russia in its agenda. Now, in the meantime, Iran, as the second holder of gas resources, can use this opportunity to highlight its role in the gas export market to Europe and, unlike before, enter the gas export market and open the field to It does not benefit Russian companies. The current research, relying on the descriptive-analytical method and using library and internet sources and documents, while examining the geopolitical evolution of the European unionʹs energy after the 2022 crisis in Ukraine, analyzing the potential role of Iran in the field of gas export.
