Worldwide, the regular and professional lives of people have experienced significant changes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, individuals were asked to stay at home, and home quarantine laws were put into place in different countries. Policymakers and employers have placed remote work on the agenda in an effort to prevent the detrimental economic effects that the COVID-19 pandemic created. People’s professional lives were faced with unanticipated challenges as a result of this quick change, particularly those of educators, college professors, and school teachers. But until now, there hasnot been a lot of study done on the impacts of switching forcibly to teleworking. Therefore, the current study aimed to identify the factors associated with employee’s work motivation during COVID-19-related remote work. This study was conducted with a qualitative approach and phenomenological method. The study population included all teleworking middle-school teachers in Bandar-Abbas city. The sample consisted of 16 people (9 men and 7 women) from this population, who were selected using convenient sampling (voluntary type) and considering the principle of saturation. To collect data, semi-structured interviews were used and data analysis was done through thematic analysis. The findings led to the formation of two main themes: "contextual factors" and "individual factors". "Individual factors" refer to the perceptual factors of the working person such as a sense of job responsibility, commitment to work, sense of value, giving meaning to work, time management, work-life balance, job satisfaction, and personal benefits. "Contextual factors" included three subthemes. These subthemes included "factors related to the job", "factors related to communication" and "factors related to the support of the employee", which is totally a set of 24 factors related to the nature of the job and the type of task, the support received by the employee and factors related to communication. In total, this research identified 32 key factors affecting the job motivation of employees during remote work, which reflect the experiences of employees during remote work. It is recommended that the findings of this research be used in order to manage the job motivation of employees in the times when remote work arrangements are established.
