Divorce has been proposed throughout history as a solution to marital problems, but the way it is dealt with varies in every society. Today, divorce is often perceived as a tension-inducing and threatening factor for families and social well-being. Therefore, it is necessary to adhere to principles and rules to ensure a divorce proceeds without conflict and complications, leading to a proper and beneficial outcome. The aim of this research is to elucidate the components of righteous divorce in the Quran, emphasizing exegetical interpretations, as well as explaining the components of righteous divorce in psychology. Ultimately, the commonalities and differences between Quranic and psychological perspectives on righteous divorce are discussed. This comparative study, conducted through descriptive and analytical methods, extracts the Quranic foundations of divorce and righteous divorce using various books, theses, articles, and comprehensive software for exegesis and hadith studies. These Quranic elements are then compared with relevant psychological theories. The study concludes by outlining the points of divergence and convergence between the two perspectives, highlighting the dual stages of psychological recommendations related to predivorce and post-divorce guidelines. In the first stage, psychological recommendations based on psychologists' theories are presented, such as Gottman's theory, which aids couples in achieving a deeper understanding of awareness, empathy, and their relationship. Additionally, theories by McMaster, Sternberg, and Markman-Nep are discussed. In the second stage, focusing on post-divorce adjustments, psychological models are introduced, including Bohannon's model, which delineates six processes of divorce, Weissman's model, viewing divorce as a mourning process, and Kohler's model, recognizing divorce as a cognitive process.
