The recent research was conducted with the aim of development of emotional focused parenting package.The research method used was qualitative and thematic analysis.
Qualitative data from a collection of books, articles and translated Persian and English research related to emotionally focused parenting education were collected.
In this regard, all content from books and articles and sources on parenting emotion focused approach and related components were extracted and categorized.
The extracted texts were then coded in primary and secondary categories.
The main themes were categorized under the titles of (Child Emotional Foundation), (Seed Planting of Attachment), and (Parental Care System), each comprising several sub¬themes such as (Emotional space between parent and child) and (Emotional Coregulation).
The second main theme called (Seed planting Attachment) consisted of Subthemes like: (child's secure base and haven) (Secure child), (Insecure child", and (Attachment needs).
The third and final main theme, labeled as (Parental Care System), encompassed sub-themes like (Effective parental caregiving alliance), (Ineffective parental caregiving) alliance), and (Communication barriers).
In total, three main themes and nine sub-themes were identified as components of emotionally focused parenting.
Findings from the research indicated that among the discussed themes, the sub-themes (child's secure base and haven) and (Attachment needs) are among the most important components identified in emotionally focused parenting, which parents should pay special attention to from the very birth of their child. The overall goals of the developed package included understanding attachment and needs, shaping secure attachment in the child, understanding emotions, and regulating emotions in both parents and children. The results of this research can be used by professionals such as counselors and educators in the field of family education to educate and raise awareness among parents about emotionally focused child rearing.
