In the belief of the Shiites of the Imamia, Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and ten of his children have held the Imamate and political and spiritual authority of the Ummah for 249 years (260-11) based on religious texts. Regarding their position, role and powers, various topics and issues have been discussed in existing traditions and among experts. One of the most important of them has been the subject of "Imamʹs knowledge" and the issues surrounding it. One of the issues related to the Imamʹs knowledge is the examination of historical evidence indicating the Imamʹs knowledge of human sciences and the sources of these sciences. Regarding the imamsʹ superhuman mastery over religious sciences, no significant difference can be found among Shia scholars, rather, they consider the imamʹs complete knowledge of religious sciences to be a condition for Imamate. What is the source of discussion and disagreement among Shia scholars and theologians is their knowledge of non-religious sciences. Some of them, such as the Nobakhtians, believe that the current imams have full knowledge of all matters and sciences, but the current of Sheikh Mofid and his students believe that knowledge of non-religious sciences is not one of the essentials of the position of Imamate, but they can be aware of these sciences. to be In the meantime, of course, there have been other currents, such as people attributed to Ghol, who have insisted on the complete mastery of Imams over all religious, occult and human sciences. According to them, Imamʹs knowledge is such that it can be considered as the stone of Godʹs knowledge. This hypothesis (the existence of historical evidence indicating the Imamʹs knowledge of human sciences and the use of the sources of these sciences) in addition to the existing hadiths, by citing several historical witnesses, such as the Imamsʹ use of various written sources, their orders and efforts in acquiring historical knowledge, Benefiting from the gift of reason and thinking, ordering absolute consultation and using it, normal reference to all kinds of traditions and conventional reports, can be proved. The result of this study can first question the maximalist theory about Imamsʹ sciences and its non-human sources; Secondly, to challenge the exaggerated approach about the materials and sources of their sciences.
