In general, the human eye is divided into anterior and posterior segments. The treatment of diseases related to each segment is different. Diseases of the posterior segment are usually treated with invasive methods, such various surgeries, while eye drops are usually used to treat diseases of the anterior segment. The amount of available drug for anterior segment of the eye depends on various factors such as; Genetics, anatomy of sub-layers, the temperature distribution and the flow field of aqueous humor. In the present study, using a three-dimensional model, heat transfer, flow field and drug delivery in the eye were investigated numerically. The temperature distribution and the position of the eye in relation to the direction of gravity, play an important role in the field of fluid flow. The flow field also has a significant effect on the concentration transfer process in the anterior chamber. In this study, the effect of ambient temperature on the flow field in standing and supine position was investigated. Also, using the obtained flow field, the transfer of drug concentration into the eye was simulated through two methods of topical drug delivery and intravitreal injection. To validate the proposed computational model, the results of the numerical solution of the flow field compared with past researchs. Also, the results of heat transfer and drug delivery simulations, were evaluated by using experimental data which obtained from experiments on human and rabbit. The results showed that if the temperature difference between the environment and the human body is degrees Celsius, the maximum velocity will be μm / sAnd this value is and micrometers per second for the temperature difference of and degreesCelsius, respectively. In general, as the temperature difference between the environment and the human body increases, the velocity of the aqueous humor in the anterior chamber of the eye increases. Concentration transfer simulations showed that by using eye drops, the amount of available drug for vitreoushumor is insignificant, and on the other hand, in the intravitreal injection method, the drug has a significant concentration in the posterior chamber.According to the results, in the intravitreal injection method by injecting mg of the drug, the concentration of the drug in the vitreous is μg⁄mland after days, the drug consumpted inside the eye.The maximum concentration of the drug in the aqueous humor is μg / ml, which occurs after days.
