With the emergence of numerous an‎d varied artificial intelligence (AI) tools for translation, there is a growing need to carefully eva‎luate an‎d selec‎t tools for effective translation. The purpose of this study was first to find if there is any difference in translation power of different AI- powered translation tools an‎d then to find the best AI-powered translation tool by eva‎luating the translation quality of 10 AI-powered translation tools in translating news headlines from English to Persian. To this end, the translation quality of the tools was assessed an‎d compared against each other an‎d human translation. Waddingtonʹs model of Translation Quality Assessment was used to assess the translation quality of news headlines translated by these tools. Twenty political news headlines an‎d twenty sport news headlines, published from April 2024 to June 2024, were ran‎domly chosen from The Guardian newspaper as corpus of the study. The results of the study revealed that while AI translation tools demonstrate a strong ability to convey the main message of news headlines across languages, variations exist in word choice an‎d grammatical structure. Wordvise AI outperformed other tools, including Google Translate, highlighting advancements in AI-powered translation technology. However, while top-performing AI tools approach human translation quality, a performance gap remains with other tools. The findings of this study could offer valuable insights for language service providers, translators, an‎d AI developers, enabling them to make informed decisions about integrating these tools an‎d identifying areas for further improvement.

با ظهور ابزارهاي متعدد و گوناگون هوش مصنوعي براي ترجمه، نياز روزافزوني به ارزيابي دقيق و انتخاب مناسب‌ترين ابزار براي ترجمه مؤثر پديد آمده است. هدف از اين مطالعه، در گام نخست، بررسي اين مسئله بود كه آيا اساساً تفاوتي در ترجمه‌هاي توليدشده توسط ابزارهاي مبتني بر هوش مصنوعي وجود دارد يا خي .سپس در اين مطالعه تلاش شد كه بهترين ابزار ترجمه مبتني بر هوش مصنوعي از طريق ارزيابي كيفيت ترجمه 10 ابزار ترجمه مبتني بر هوش مصنوعي در ترجمه تيترهاي خبري از انگليسي به فارسي مشخص شود. براي اين منظور، كيفيت ترجمه ابزارها ارزيابي و با يكديگر و نيز با ترجمه انساني مقايسه شد. به اين منظور از مدل ارزيابي كيفيت ترحمه ويدينگتن براي ارزيابي كيفيت ترجمه تيترهاي خبري مورد استفاده قرار گرفت. 20 تيتر خبري سياسي و 20 تيتر خبري ورزشي منتشر‌شده از آوريل تا ژوئن 2024 به طور تصادفي از روزنامه گاردين به عنوان مجموعه داده‌هاي مطالعه انتخاب شدند. نتايج مطالعه نشان داد كه در حالي كه اغلب ابزارهاي ترجمه هوش مصنوعي به طور كلي توانايي قوي در انتقال معناي كلي تيتر هاي خبري را نشان مي‌دهند، به طور جزِئي تر تفاوت هايي در انتخاب كلمات و ساختار گرامري در بين آن ها وجود دارد. از طرفي بررسي و مقايسه جزئي تر ابزار‌ها با هم نشان داد كه Wordvise AI از ساير ابزارها، از جمله Google Translate، عملكرد بهتري را نشان دارد و پيشرفت‌هايي را در فناوري ترجمه مبتني بر هوش مصنوعي برجسته كرد. علاوه بر اين، در حالي كه ابزارهاي هوش مصنوعي برتر به كيفيت ترجمه انساني نزديك بودند، شكاف عملكردي ترجمه انساني با ساير ابزارها ديده شد. يافته‌هاي اين مطالعه ميتواند بينش‌هاي ارزشمندي را براي ارائه‌دهندگان خدمات زباني، مترجمان و توسعه‌دهندگان هوش مصنوعي ارائه مي‌دهد و آنها را قادر مي‌سازد تا تصميمات آگاهانه‌تري در مورد شناسايي زمينه‌هاي بهبود بگيرند. در پژوهش‌هاي آتي مي‌توان عملكرد ساير ابزارهاي ترجمه مبتني بر هوش مصنوعي را در گستره وسيع‌تري از انواع متون، زوج‌هاي زباني و سطوح مختلف پيچيدگي زباني مورد ارزيابي قرار داد تا اعتبار و قابليت تعميم يافته‌هاي حاضر تقويت گردد.
