The phenomenon of "female exhibitionism," sometimes accompanied by "prostitution," has a very old history. It seems that the female body has always been subject to buying, selling, and valuation. This representation of women as beings who are displayed and created with the specific characteristic of seduction is at the core of the contradiction and conflict over the definition of "femininity." Should women be considered victims, trapped by menʹs lust? or should this distinction be considered a source of empowerment for this dangerous gender, which has long carried the reputation of causing ups and downs, changes, and turmoil in the safe and calm lives of men?
The present research, with the aim of "describing the pornographic activities of women in the Instagram space," was conducted using thematic analysis method and through interviews with 13 women whose Instagram content and pages contained themes similar to and of the nature of "porn." What was ultimately obtained was summarized in the form of 5 main themes, including: The Age of Sexcess (with 5 categories: centrality of sex, a culture of lust, gaining power and identity, virtual leisure and the representational system as a healing space, deconstructing the display of the body; body against patriarchy), The Showcase: Display of Lack and Desire (with 4 categories: women as objects, normalized prostitution, transactional selling of the body, self-display with thoughtfulness), The Rules of the Game (with three categories: economy of attention, counterculture of obscenity, the mask of lechery), Dreadful Kinship (with two categories: disrupted childhood, symphony of hate; lost fatherhood and motherhood), and Paradox of Status (with two categories: intertwining of emotions, the viewerʹs thought cinema).
